jane gainey is a native of north carolina where she received her bs in fashion merchandising from meredith college. in completion of college, she moved to georgia to pursue a career in fashion. during her stay, she had the opportunity to assist in styling actress malinda williams for upscale magazine and style for hit stage play, "big mommas prayer", starring ann nesby. after moving back to nc in 2008, Lida.jane was officially birthed. jane has worked with news reporter keshia lopez of wmgt-tv, gospel artist cynthia jones and 2009 mrs. nc international, ladaria jones. In 2020 jane started her journey in customizing hats in which she calls funkadelic hats by lida.jane. she has customized hats for hip hop artists big daddy kane, kwame and dupre' doitall kelly, Pastor Jamal Bryant of New Birth MBC, Keyboardist Buddy Strong from the dave matthews band, actor/dancer Popin pete from Breakin' and nccu's men's basketball coach levelle moton. her work has been featured in l.vision magazine, fabalous magazine and urban mainstream magazine. she was the recipient of achi magazine's 2019 fashion designer of the year award. lida.jane is classy, edgy, funky and fun! have you been funkdafied?
